FTAA is a Nonprofit Public Benefit Organization

The Florida Turkish American Association (FTAA) is dedicated to fostering a vibrant Turkish-American community in Southern Florida. Through cultural, educational, and social programs, we celebrate and preserve Turkish heritage while promoting cross-cultural understanding across generations. Our initiatives include cultural festivals, art and dance clubs, language classes, and support for newcomers. We strive to create a welcoming environment where community members can connect, share their heritage, and contribute to the broader community.

Join us for FTAA's monthly Wednesday dinner, celebrating the holiday season with a festive "Happy Holidays" theme!

CLUBS

Our Cultural & Community Clubs

FTAA Folk Dancing Club

Join our FTAA Folk Dancing Club for fun, exercise, and the expression of Turkish culture through stories shared through movement. At the FTAA Folk Dancing Club, we celebrate and honor traditional Turkish folk dancing choreographies from various regions, including Karadeniz, Atabari, and Trakya.

Whether you are an experienced dancer or just starting, you will find a warm, welcoming space to learn and enjoy this performance art that involves great team work.

This club usually meets weekly and includes the preparation of several public performances during the Fall/Winter and Winter/Spring seasons.

FTAA Atatürk School

Students between 4-14 years of age across all Turkish language proficiency levels are welcome to join our FTAA Atatürk School which includes activity-based learning opportunities related to Turkish language, history, geography, culture, food, music, and art.

Each class offers fun educational activities for your children that enrich their free time while reinforcing their Turkish language skills in a bilingual setting.

Our interactive classes take place every Sunday from 12:00pm to 1:30pm during the Fall/Winter and Winter/Spring seasons.

FTAA Chorus

We’re thrilled to have you join our joyful musical community! At the FTAA Chorus, we delve into Turkish music performance and appreciation.

Whether you sing like a beautiful bird or cant sing at all,  you’ll find a cheerful environment here. 

  This club usually meets weekly and includes the preparation of several public performances during the Fall/Winter and Winter/Spring seasons.

FTAA Painting Club

Join our FTAA Painting Club to explore Turkish culture through art while also developing your own painting skills through class activities.

Whether you are an experienced artist or new to painting, you will find a supportive and inspiring environment here.

This club usually meets weekly week during the Fall/Winter seasons culminating with an annual painting exhibit of participant art works.

FTAA organizes a wide range of events and programs, including cultural festivals, educational workshops, community gatherings, art exhibitions, and humanitarian assistance initiatives. We also offer support programs for newcomers to Florida.
To volunteer with FTAA, visit our “Become a Volunteer” section on the website. Fill out the volunteer application form, and we will get in touch with you to discuss how your skills and interests can best contribute to our community efforts.

The FTAA Folk Dancing Club is dedicated to preserving and promoting traditional Turkish dances, including Karadeniz, Atabari, and Trakya. To join, check our schedule on the website and attend a practice session. No prior experience is necessary—just a passion for dance and culture!

You can support FTAA by making a donation through our website. Visit the “Donate” section, where you can choose to make a one-time or recurring contribution. Your generosity helps us continue our cultural, educational, and humanitarian programs.

FTAA membership benefits include free or discounted tickets on all FTAA activities. Members comprise the FTAA General Assembly which meets annually to discuss the needs of the community and set priorities for the association’s strategic plans. Members in good standing also reserve the right to become a board member candidate and/or vote in board member elections every two years.
