We had the pleasure of hosting the Tatar Picnic on April 27. Thanks to our gatherings, we became more united, closer, and dearer to each other. We felt our common family had grown larger and stronger, and that we were truly one people. Most importantly, our children made new friends and began hearing their native language, music, and songs more frequently.
At the picnic, we enjoyed traditional Tatar treats like çäk-çäk, waq bäleş, and mantı, which are rarely found in stores but were served to our guests. We also held our first “experimental” course of basic Tatar, marking the beginning of a series of Tatar language and culture lessons planned for the next year.
The picnic took place from 10 am to 5 pm at Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, 3109 East Sunrise Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale 33304, FL, Pavilion #2. We thank everyone who attended and brought their children, relatives, and friends. It was a wonderful opportunity to immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of our homeland, even thousands of miles away.
